Wen Yanbo (1006-1097) was named Kuanfu. A native of Jiexiu, Fenzhou (now Jiexiu, Shanxi). It was originally the Jing family name, but it was changed to avoid the taboo of Jin and Song ancestors. Shao studied with Zhang Min and others from the history of Yingchang. When he was a Jinshi, he knew Yicheng County, passed through Jiangzhou, served as the supervisory censor, and transferred to the palace to serve the censor. Because of his political achievements in handling Xixia border defense affairs, he became the deputy privy envoy and participated in political affairs. Later, the weak king of Pinghe revolted and worshiped Tong Zhongshu's disciple Ping Zhangshi and Jixian Palace as a bachelor. In the second year of Zhihe (1055), Ping Zhangshi, the Minister of the Ministry of Personnel, Tong Zhongshu, and the bachelor of Zhaowenguan worshiped Fu Bi together. All the scholar-bureaucrats celebrated their success. After a long time, he was granted the title of Duke of Lu and moved to Zuopushe, the Minister of Finance. He was found among the servants and became the privy envoy. In the second year of Xining (1069), he worshiped Sikong and became Situ. In the third year of Yuanfeng (1080), he paid homage to Taiwei. Yanbo lived in the four dynasties of Ren, Ying, Shen and Zhezong, and served as general and prime minister for more than fifty years. Although he is extremely poor and rich, he is humble in accepting things, respects virtue and enjoys good deeds, even if he is afraid of not being able to do so. When the court is established, it is dignified and majestic. When people from afar come to court, they look up to his elegance, share his virtues and respect him. His reputation is known to all the barbarians, and he is enough to resist insults thousands of miles away. As for public loyalty, straightforwardness, and decisiveness in dealing with matters, they all have the style of a minister. Since the War of Peace (1054), we have made great plans together, retired after success, and relied on the government and the public. Xi (1068) and Feng (1078) fell, and Yan Bo and Fu Bi became old one after another. They were treacherous and unscrupulous, good people were sparse, and the Song Dynasty declined!
