Chen Jiru (1558-1639) was born in Huating (now Songjiang, Shanghai), courtesy name Zhongchuan and nickname Meigong. He was very intelligent since he was a child, and his short poems and essays were very elegant. He was good at painting and calligraphy. His calligraphy was between Su and Mi, and he was especially good at Su Dongpo's poems and texts. When you encounter Su's ink mark, you must seek it with your heart. Also good at appreciation.
