The cultural wall is an important part of campus culture construction and a concentrated display of the school’s educational outlook and values. The National Flower School breaks away from the traditional poster layout and jumps directly to the art wall culture, showing a variety of changes.
This design took several months, and the unique creations of the art group teachers of Guohua School, coupled with the careful guidance of Director Meng Xia, finally presented a unique art and culture corridor.
China’s excellent traditional culture is rich in connotation. Poetry culture, calligraphy, seal cutting, folk crafts such as paper-cutting, etc. can all become sources of materials for art teachers to design cultural walls to cultivate students’ cultural heritage. At the same time, "curriculum" should be given priority in the design process to fully demonstrate the characteristics of the subject and make subject knowledge within reach of students.
01. National Flower Characteristic Art Gallery
As a common public space in school buildings, corridors are the areas where students spend the longest time besides classrooms. Art teachers consider space design when designing, taking culture as the "root" and infiltrating culture into every corner of the school.
Walking through the corridor, the calligraphy works blowing in the wind above me feel a sense of agility coming to my face from time to time. The rich cultural atmosphere, authentic cultural accumulation, and solid cultural heritage are all filled with an atmosphere of "connotation and cultivation".
02. When the twenty-four solar terms meet the intangible cultural heritage paper-cutting
Traditional festivals are important carriers for carrying forward the traditional culture of the Chinese nation and inheriting Chinese virtues. Chinese traditional festivals have evolved from ancient times to modern times, and from the nation to the world. It is a precious historical and cultural heritage and a typical symbol of national culture.
In the corridor, a group of exhibitions showing students' exquisite skills such as painting and paper-cutting also attracted the attention of teachers and students. These works were all created by students from Guohua School. The children expressed their understanding of traditional culture through paper-cutting, painting, seal cutting and other forms.
The exquisite works not only show the love of teachers and students of Guohua School for traditional culture, but also make ancient arts such as paper-cutting, painting, and seal cutting shine brightly in the hearts of the next generation and be passed on.
03. Calligraphy Exhibition of Teachers and Students
Since its establishment, Guohua School has actively promoted the development of calligraphy classes. Calligraphy seems simple, but it is not easy to write well. In addition to the internal skills of calligraphy, such as brushwork, inkwork, composition, etc., you also need to practice and study the "external skills of calligraphy." "Character skills" are very important to the art of calligraphy, and Guohua students have made some achievements under the guidance and guidance of calligraphy teachers.
This calligraphy wall plays the role of cultivating students' sentiments, stimulating their interest in calligraphy and their love for the traditional Chinese art. Today, when emphasis is placed on strengthening quality education, developing calligraphy education is of far-reaching significance. Carrying out calligraphy art education activities among students is conducive to the comprehensive development of students' comprehensive quality.
04. Calligraphy on the wall is “wall” and powerful
On this wall, the art teacher used dozens of insulation boards to imitate ancient styles and carved them, vividly showing the long history of the evolution of Chinese characters and calligraphy. The various calligraphy works arranged on the wall are eye-catching, some are full of ink or smooth and thick, penetrating through the back of the paper, and the pen moves smoothly, highlighting the artistic characteristics of Guohua School.
05. Printmaking art enters the classroom
Printmaking is a form of painting. A carving knife is used to carve a printed picture on a copper plate, zinc plate, wood plate, etc., and then copied on paper.
You can carve a simple intaglio with a piece of board, paper, and pencil, and then use acrylic coloring to quickly present your work. By creating prints, students' unlimited creativity can be stimulated, their aesthetic abilities can be improved, students' sense of innovation can be tapped, and students can develop the habit of being patient and careful during the printing stage.
In the design of corridors and cultural walls, the characteristics of art courses are presented in the school corridors, which not only improves students' aesthetic ability and basic artistic literacy, but also enriches students' artistic expression forms, creating an internet celebrity check-in place for Guohua School, and forming a A landscape with unique artistic characteristics.
