For the violin, no matter how hard the left hand works, it is just a tool. The right hand is the art, the soul that controls the tone and emotion.
I think calligraphy has something in common with it. When I was learning in the early days, I often focused on structure. As long as there are no big problems with the structure of the characters, it can at least ensure that the characters are not too ugly. But as you continue to deepen, you will find that lines are becoming more and more important. Especially after reaching a relatively high level, the texture of the lines can determine the height of the calligraphy. Even from the perspective of calligraphy as an abstract art, the quality of lines determines the artistic soul of calligraphy.
Of course, whether it is the left and right hands of the violin or the strokes and structure of calligraphy, they are actually two sides of the same coin, and no one can live without the other. It is unrealistic and meaningless to talk about structure without strokes, and to talk about strokes without structure. The only difference is probably that there is indeed a different focus at different stages of learning.
