"The Complete Collection of Yan Zhenqing's Calligraphy" comprehensively collects all the extant calligraphy works of Yan Zhenqing. Some important works include both stone rubbings and woodcut rubbings, or both rubbings and ink rubbings. It is the most comprehensive collection of Yan Zhenqing's calligraphy works seen so far.

The complete collection is sorted according to the year when the original works were written and the monuments were erected. The rubbings based on them are mainly Song rubbings, Ming and Qing rubbings and the newly discovered inscriptions written by Yan Zhenqing. The complete collection consists of eight volumes. The first seven volumes are Yan Zhenqing's calligraphy works, and the eighth volume is Zhu Guantian's research on Yan Zhenqing.

The explanations in the book are in traditional Chinese and organized with modern punctuation. During the compilation process, many previous research results were absorbed, including the Qing Dynasty's engraving of the "Complete Tang Dynasty" and Ling Jiamin's compilation of "Yan Zhenqing Collection", etc., which increased the academic value.

In the history of Chinese calligraphy, Yan Zhenqing is an important calligrapher. The "Yan style" he created is not only the representative of regular script in the Tang Dynasty, but also a classic for introductory calligraphy, which is well known to women and children. Yan Zhenqing's calligraphy is characterized by grand structure and upright atmosphere. This feature is consistent with his noble personality and has become a model of the perfect combination of the beauty of calligraphy and the beauty of personality. What is more distinctive is that Yan Zhenqing has many calligraphy works, but they have different looks. He keeps pace with the times and comes up with new ideas. His calligraphy works, especially the "Manuscript of Memorial to Nephew" and his death for the country, are still shocking to this day.

"The Complete Collection of Yan Zhenqing's Calligraphy", as a complete collection that shows the overall appearance of Yan Zhenqing's calligraphy art, is a classic case of the creative transformation and innovative development of traditional culture. This complete collection is also an important document for the study of Yan Zhenqing's calligraphy, and will provide systematic and comprehensive basic information for the study of Tang Dynasty calligraphy, especially Yan Zhenqing's calligraphy.
