How to practice pen calligraphy most effectively?

When you start practicing calligraphy with a pen, try the following three methods:

1. Pointillism should present a three-dimensional effect.

The front of the pen tip (can be considered as the front edge) and the side (can be viewed as the lateral edge). When writing, the front of the pen tip touches the paper regardless of the starting point, stroke, end or turning point. That is to say, if the strokes are directed forward, the stipples must be round, thick, plump and powerful, giving people a three-dimensional feeling.

2. Dot painting should have a sense of weight.

From the perspective of the writing process of dot painting, any dot painting has three basic actions: starting the pen, moving the pen, and closing the pen. The force of these three movements is different. It should be slightly heavier at the beginning and end of the pen; slightly lighter during the writing process; slightly heavier at the turning point and pause; the hanging needle is pointed, hooked, and lifted; and the end of the pen should be slightly lighter; the "point" should be appropriate. Heavy, "painting" is slightly lighter; and so on. In short, changing the strength of the pen will produce different effects. The stipples written are not only different in thickness, clear at the beginning and end, and clear in stipples, but also give people a sense of elegance, beauty, calmness, and richness. At the same time, there are ups and downs, and rich The beauty of elasticity. When emphasizing the lightness and weight of pen calligraphy and stipple painting, you should pay attention to subtlety, and be careful not to let light strokes be weak and avoid heavy strokes being dull.

3. Dot painting should have a sense of speed.

We know that if the structure of a character is straight, well-proportioned, coherent, and uneven, but has no flying momentum, it will definitely lack vitality. To be alive, it must be expressed with vivid pointillism. To express the dynamic feeling of dot painting in regular script, it is often necessary to change the speed and speed of dot painting. Generally, the strokes are started and closed slowly, the strokes in the middle are a little faster, the turning points should not be too fast, the straight strokes are not confident, and the strokes should be heavy and slow. The pen should be light or a little faster, the strokes should be done slowly, the strokes should be done quickly and the pen should be closed quickly; etc. If you write quickly, your strokes may become thin, while if you stroke your strokes slowly, you may lose momentum. You must pay attention to control when using your strokes.
