People often complain, “Why can’t I write well even if I practice calligraphy every day?” “Why can’t I practice calligraphy well even if I persist for so long?” “Why haven’t I made any progress after writing so many copybooks?” “Oh, I’ve tried every method but nothing works.” "

Today Xiao Mo is here to tell you, why can’t you practice calligraphy well?

1. Misdirection, going astray

The pen copybooks on the market are either red tracing, thin paper copying, or grooved lettering practice. As we all know, these methods that focus on hand training have little effect. In fact, practicing calligraphy is not about practicing the hands, but about forming a permanent image memory in the minds of young people through practicing the words in the copybook. Writing is nothing more than expressing the font image in your mind through the pen in your hand. For example, if you ask a child to draw a circle, he will know that it looks like a ball. If you ask the child to draw a square, he will also know that it looks like a matchbox. Children can draw it.

2. Don’t understand the principles and blindly imitate

Whether the font is beautiful or not mainly depends on the frame structure. Regarding the shelf structure, Ouyang Xun’s Thirty-Six Methods of the Tang Dynasty have been used for thousands of years. But it only tells us how the strokes should be written and what the structure should be, but it does not tell us why it should be like this.

For example, "point" is like a falling stone from a peak, "horizontal" is like a cloud array thousands of miles away, "vertical" is like a long live withered vine, etc. The structure should be uniform on all four sides, and the eight sides should have the surface phenomena and laws of the structure, but it does not tell us the deeper truth. For example: we know that the horizontal strokes should be written diagonally with the left side low and the right side high, but we are not told why. The horizontal slope of the word "seven" is particularly large, and this is why; I know that the left side of the water has to leave the vertical hook, but the right side of the water has to rest on the vertical hook, but I don't know why; I know that the knife The horizontal fold hook should be written diagonally to the left, and the horizontal fold hook of "Si" should be written upright. I don't know why; I know that the upper horizontal line of the character "left" is shorter and the upper horizontal line of the character "right" is longer, but I don't know why, etc... …

In fact, there has never been a structural theory system suitable for beginners in history. If you blindly imitate copybooks, you will not be able to achieve the learning effect of drawing inferences from one instance and drawing analogies.

3. Rough copywriting, poor handwriting memory

Masters of calligraphy in the past have recognized that practicing copybooks is the most effective way to learn calligraphy, that is: first read the words clearly on the calligraphy stickers, and then write them directly on the prepared paper. This method trains image memory. Because they do not understand the fundamental principle of the frame structure, the traditional writing grid has functional defects, making it difficult for beginners to write accurately. That is, the words written are completely different or similar to the words on the post. The image is not the image, but it will form a memory of bad writing and bad writing, which is preconceived, ingrained and difficult to correct. It is generally the case that one learns from bad things first and then corrects them, taking many detours.

4. If you practice every word, it will be difficult to last.

You may be able to write well with calligraphy that you have practiced, but you will definitely not be able to write well with calligraphy that you have not practiced, so you have to practice every word. The cycle of so many Chinese characters is so long that in today's era, almost no one can practice calligraphy for a long time.

To improve the overall writing level, we can only overcome the above difficulties, improve the old methods, and innovate a scientific, simple and efficient calligraphy practice method to meet the needs of the times. Since its establishment, Jiutiange Calligraphy has been committed to improving students' calligraphy skills. It has three characteristics: professional, easy to learn, and interesting. Through the eight structural rules of calligraphy practice, 45 calligraphy methods and 20 formulas, students can combine calligraphy practice with root characters and commonly used radicals to spell Chinese characters. They can easily achieve the effect of drawing inferences from one instance and drawing analogies, so as to write in a short time Beautiful pen calligraphy.
