1. Course Introduction
Nature of course: Elective.
Category of the course: General quality-development theory courses in public art education in colleges and universities.
Calligraphy is an important part of traditional Chinese culture and the most condensed materialized form of the Chinese nation’s traditional cultural thoughts. This course insists on teaching it in the context of traditional Chinese cultural thoughts, aiming to promote the traditional culture and thoughts of the Chinese nation and pay attention to Cultivate students' abilities in imagery thinking and creative thinking.
2. Objectives of course teaching
The "Calligraphy Appreciation" course is a general art course and one of the eight restricted art elective courses that colleges and universities are explicitly required to offer in the "Guidance Plan for Public Art Courses in Colleges and Universities" issued by the Ministry of Education in 2006. The main content of the course is to appreciate the names of famous Chinese calligraphers from past dynasties, starting from the types and styles of calligraphy, taking the historical context and development as the main line, and telling the basic characteristics and development process of calligraphy art in different historical periods and different styles. At the same time, it can also enable students to understand the structure, brushwork, and composition of calligraphy, and have a more intuitive understanding of the profound and profound art of Chinese calligraphy. Through the practice of calligraphy, the course enables students to not only appreciate calligraphy works, but also master the general rules of tying characters, gradually master the writing skills of pen calligraphy and brush calligraphy, and be able to use pens to write various fonts in a standardized, correct and correct manner. Neat, develop good writing habits, appreciate the beauty of Chinese characters in writing, and ultimately achieve the teaching goal of improving students' artistic accomplishment, appreciation ability and comprehensive quality.

2. Appreciation of calligraphy classics of past dynasties: Use systematic calligraphy appreciation theories and methods to appreciate and analyze classic calligraphy works of past dynasties from the aspects of spiritual concepts, aesthetic concepts, techniques and methods.

1. The aesthetic view of calligraphy art appreciation: through the narration of the development process of calligraphy art aesthetics, establish a scientific aesthetic view of calligraphy art appreciation;

7. Course assessment and performance evaluation methods
This course uses phased assessment as the main method of assessment. The overall assessment consists of three components: student participation, calligraphy practice assignments and final test:
(1) Participation level (experience value) accounts for 40%. Relying on the Lanmoyun class platform, it mainly consists of online course learning, online discussions, online unit tests, etc.
(2) Calligraphy practice assignments account for 20%. There are 8 calligraphy practice assignments. Through the Blue Ink Cloud class platform, students complete the corresponding writing practice assignments, take photos and upload them, using a combination of peer evaluation and teacher comments.
(3) The final test accounts for 40%. Through the Sakai online independent learning platform, single-choice questions and multiple-choice question banks are set up, and the question bank is randomly selected.
