1. First of all, you must have a strong desire to write well.

"Interest is the best teacher." As long as you are interested in one thing, it is half the battle, and practicing calligraphy is no exception. First of all, you must establish a concept. It is not that others have to write well, but that I have to write well. If you haven't been interested in writing for a while, you need to slowly develop an interest. If you want to write well, you will write well.

2. Understand the basic knowledge of learning hard-tipped calligraphy.

Before practicing calligraphy, we should understand some basic knowledge:

Spare tools: ordinary white paper, pens, ballpoint pens, fountain pens, etc. The method of holding the pen is to hold the pen with three fingers, the thumb and index finger hold the pen stick, and the middle finger is under the pen rod. The thumb, index finger and middle finger mainly hold the pen, and the ring finger and little finger lightly hold the pen. Place the pen gently under the middle finger, with the distance between the pen and the third finger and the tip of the pen about 1 inch. The angle of the pen barrel and the surface of the paper should be about 45 degrees. The writing posture must also be correct.

Choose your favorite post.

The ancients said: "The best way to get the best is from the middle." There are two ways to choose calligraphy. If you just want to write well, you can choose calligraphy from recent people, regular script: such as Lu Zhongnan, Ding Qian, Tian Yingzhang, Shi Xiaobo, Wang Huisong, Gu Zhongan, Zhang Xiu... Running script: such as Wang Zhengliang, Shen Honggen, Zou Mubai, Ren Ping, Luo Hengguang... If you want to become a hard-pen calligrapher, you should not choose ancient steles and famous calligraphy. Regular script: such as Wang Xizhi's "Le Yi Lun" , "Huang Ting Jing", "Filial Daughter Cao E", Zhong Yao's "Declaration Form", Tang Zhong Shaojing's "Ling Fei Jing", Ouyang Xun's "Jiucheng Palace", Chu Suiliang's "Yanta Sacred Preface", Yu Shinan's "Confucius Temple Stele", Liu Gongquan's "Xuanmi Pagoda", Yan Zhenqing's "Duofu Tu Stele", Wen Zhengming's "Li Sao Jing", Wang Chong's regular script, Bei Stele "Zhang Menglong Stele", "Zhang Xuan's Epitaph", etc.; running script: such as "Lanting Preface", "Holy Teaching Preface", "Nephew Memorial Manuscript", "Huangzhou Cold Food Poems", "Shu Su Tie", "Tiaoxi Poems", "Songfeng Pavilion", "Li Sixun Stele", Wen Zhengming's "Preface to Prince Teng's Pavilion"... In short, the criteria for selecting a position are: first, beginners can only choose one;

Second, try to choose a temperament that is close to your own;

Third, copy.

3. "Reading, copying, copying, memorizing, meaning and using" is the only way to learn calligraphy.

"Reading" means reading posts. You must read posts frequently. You should mainly study how the characters in posts are written and look at other people's glyph structures.

"Copy" means copying, that is, buying a copybook you like and then copying it.

"Lin" means to put the post aside, then follow the words on the post yourself, study and practice at the same time.

"Back" means to carry on the back. After a period of time, we will find that the posts we posted before will leave some memories in our minds. At this time, we have to try not to read these posts anymore, which requires us to memorize the posts. content on. First, if there is a certain degree of difficulty, it means that the memory of the post is not good enough. We should continue to work hard and write carefully until we can recite it.

"Yi" refers to the coming of thoughts. When we are able to recite, they can integrate their own thoughts, understanding, taste and personality into the words to recreate them and ultimately form their own calligraphy style. Otherwise, what we practice will be like other people's things. The ancients called it "book slave".

"Use" means that after learning for a period of time, we should apply it to our daily life, study and work. If you write a word after practicing today, you can do your homework according to the writing method you practiced, write a letter, or write an article. In order to completely change the previous bad writing habits, practice a new writing method again. If we only practice writing according to the words written on the post, usually writing according to our own habits, there will be no progress.

4. Study several situations of hard-pen calligraphy.

First, wholeheartedly

It is a taboo to do anything when you see different things, and to change your mind when you see Qin and Mu Chu. Learning hard-tipped calligraphy is no exception. Many beginners practice calligraphy. Today they like "Two Kings", tomorrow they will meet Yan Zhenqing, and in a few days they will practice Mi Fu and Su Dongpo... ...Having been distracted by new ideas and not focusing on the purpose is a big taboo in calligraphy practice. It is also the fundamental reason why many calligraphy practitioners often fail to make progress and learn nothing in the end. Therefore, we need to choose a post in a font we like and stick to it.

Second, beginners should avoid flow operations and focus on breakthroughs.

The so-called "flow homework" means that after many beginners receive a post, they usually copy it quickly, and the post will be written from beginning to end soon. Afterwards, there is often nothing to remember. Writing the front and forgetting the back is also not advisable. We should make a detailed study plan, focus on a few words today, or one word per post, and focus on practicing.

Third, avoid "exposing yourself to the cold" and stick to it.

Some beginners learn calligraphy, and practicing calligraphy is a cold and hot disease. When you are interested in eulogies, you will practice for a period of time. Sometimes you will not practice for ten and a half months, so "three days of fishing and two days of drying the net" will definitely not be learned well. You can practice for an hour or two every day. If you really have something to do, you can also practice in your free time.

Fourth, correctly understand the “plateau phenomenon”.

The so-called plateau phenomenon is the phenomenon of starting to practice a feeling of progress. After practicing for a period of time, there is no progress but a feeling of regression. Some people experience this phenomenon and complain at first, and sometimes simply change posts, or stop practicing. We should know that the reason for these phenomena is that we have improved our level of appreciation. As the saying goes, "high eyes and low hands", this is actually not regression, but progress. Progress is not as rapid under the hands as it is with the eyes. Only by continuously strengthening practice can the hand reach the level of appreciating one's own handwriting.
