Although it is said that those who are good at calligraphy do not choose pen and paper.

But for newbies, good paper can save you a lot of troubles...why not? ?

Why manually add unnecessary difficulties to yourself?

I think these types of paper are not conducive to newbies practicing calligraphy.

1. Ordinary notebook paper.

I really, really, really do not recommend that you use the paper in your notebook to practice calligraphy.

First of all, the horizontal lines on this notebook are very narrow, which is not suitable for you to master the fonts.

Why do we have to draw the rice grid so big when we practice calligraphy?

Because when you practice calligraphy, you need to make the characters larger so that your strokes can be seen clearly and written clearly.

The paper in the notebook can easily make you unable to stretch out, making you immersed in the habits you have been doing for many years and unable to get out.

Secondly, this paper is rather ugly...it will dampen your enthusiasm for practicing calligraphy. Moreover, there is no sense of ritual, which is not conducive to your progress and continued practice of calligraphy.

Of course, there are exceptions, such as senior high school students who are extremely pressed for time.

They don't have much time to practice calligraphy, so they just adjust the composition and structure. The exam is coming soon, so it would be nice if they have time to write and draw in their notebooks.

2. Transparent paper.

You all still remember what I said, don’t use transparent paper to describe copybooks, because progress is very slow.

Likewise, I don’t advocate using transparent paper to practice calligraphy. Because it is slippery ~

The feel is also different from the paper you write on every day, and it is very thin and easy to break.

3. Paper with ink bleeding.

Well, I don’t need to say more about this. Ink bleeding affects your performance, so don’t make it more difficult for yourself, everyone~

4. Wrong use of paper.

For example, my running script works need to be connected, but you actually used grid paper to write for me... It’s really annoying to write running script on grid paper.

So some people may ask, why do we use grid paper for the calligraphy we copy recently?

Because recently they are all single words, not a chapter. When learning single characters, it is very good to use grids, which will help you grasp the structure and size of the character.

For our D1 homework, it is very inappropriate to use grid paper to copy those two poems.

Some people may ask, what kind of paper is better to use?

1. Ordinary A4 paper is enough. Grids can be printed.

2. Tianzi grid and rice grid sold on the market. As long as the ink does not bleed, that's fine. The works of paper sold on the market include vertical grids, horizontal grids, etc.

[Important reminder]: When you buy paper, you must remember, never buy 20 or 50 copies.

Why?

Because you can’t finish practicing at all! ! !

Be sure to buy less, buy 2-3 copies first, I think that will be enough.

You finish writing first and then talk about it. It’s not like paper is unavailable...

And as your skills and calligraphy knowledge increase, you will feel that these rice-character grids are too ugly, and you will change the paper...
