Strokes are the basic components of Chinese characters. If you want to write beautiful, elegant, smart and energetic words, you must first pay attention to the learning and training of strokes. Sun Guoting, a calligrapher of the Tang Dynasty, said in his "Book Book": "One painting changes from the sharp edge; within one point, the difference is frustrated by the hair. Kuang Yun accumulates his dots to form his characters." Hard-pen regular script Although the strokes are not as varied as brush calligraphy, each stroke also has its own specific shape and writing rules. When writing, you should also pay attention to changes in weight, lifting, speed, etc. As long as each stroke is written well, there will be a solid foundation for character construction.

There are eight basic strokes in regular script: horizontal, strong, left, back, hook, lift, fold, and dot. The writing methods of these eight basic strokes are:

★The horizontal strokes should be slightly heavier when starting and ending, and the stroke should be slightly lighter and slightly tilted to the right. The starting and ending strokes should be decisive and powerful.

★Start the pen vertically, pause the pen with downward movement to the right, and then move downward quickly. When closing the pen, pause slightly and make a return movement to the upper left.

★The starting stroke of the stroke is heavier. After stopping the stroke, stroke downward to the left. When moving the stroke, you must master the angle of inclination and changes in thickness.

★The strokes should be slightly heavy at the beginning, slightly horizontal at first, then diagonally to the right and down, gradually increasing the strokes, and then closing the strokes slightly parallel.

★The stroke starts with a slight pause, and then the stroke is drawn vertically. When the hook is reached, the stroke is paused and then the stroke is drawn upward to the left. The angle between the hook and the vertical axis is approximately 45°

★The strokes should be drawn with a heavy pause, and the strokes should be light and fast when lifting to the upper right. The end of the strokes should be pointed, and the strokes must not be equal in thickness. At the same time, the angle of the strokes must be adjusted according to the different knot characters.

★Zi is written by pausing the pen at the right end of the horizontal line and then folding the pen downwards. The weight of the pen closing and the inclination of the vertical pen should be changed according to different characters.

★The strokes should be slightly light when entering the stroke, and then stroke down and to the right. The strokes should not be too long and have a moderate slope, but should be short and powerful.

The above are the writing methods of eight basic strokes. Due to their different positions and usages in the process of character formation, these strokes often change in length, size, pitch, deflection, inflection, etc. Therefore, based on these eight basic strokes, several different forms of strokes are derived. Therefore, in the process of practicing strokes, one must carefully master the morphological characteristics and uses of each stroke, and strengthen the learning and training of basic skills to achieve the degree of ease with which the mind and hand can be used accordingly.
