Why can't children write well?

Chinese characters require spaces to be coordinated and symmetrical, but some children always fail to judge accurately whether the sizes of several spaces are consistent, or whether the lengths of lines are symmetrical. This is a matter of spatial judgment, or they are not sensitive enough to beauty. This aspect also requires more practice. They will make progress slowly, so taking it easy, giving encouragement, and letting your children fall in love with practicing is the best attitude for parents.

If a child wants to write well, a difficult problem that needs to be solved is: does he really want to write well?

In this regard, children's attitudes are also different. Some children have high self-esteem and want to write beautiful handwriting no matter where they are, so that they can use it after learning it and write better and better. However, some children think that practicing calligraphy and writing are two different things. When practicing, they are serious and write well, but when it comes to homework, they just scribble.

I once asked a student: "Do you really want to write well?" He told me categorically: "No!" Or some children would say: "My mother asked me to do it."

My idea is that for such children, first let them realize the importance of writing and actively want to write well. Secondly, increase the amount of practice and let them practice every day and all the time. The content of daily writing must be in accordance with the requirements of calligraphy practice, so that he can write well whatever he wants, but this requires more energy and time from calligraphy teachers and parents.

If you just want your child to write well in school, or at least meet the intermediate requirements, as long as you do the above points, you should be fine. But learning calligraphy is another issue.

Calligraphy, to use a fashionable saying, is an art in chains. The words are there, you can't change them at will. Once you write them, anyone who has practiced or not can basically tell at a glance whether you write well or not, and what is your level? Such high requirements are not easily achieved, not to mention that China has so many calligraphy styles and calligraphy styles. Whether a person's calligraphy is good or not often depends on his brushing skills, aesthetic taste, and personal style. Literary accomplishment, so calligraphy practice is not a day or two days nor a year or two. Some people have been writing for half a lifetime and still feel that they know very little (like me), so this is a process of artistic exploration.

For children, they are just laying the foundation and have not yet reached this level. However, calligraphy practice from an early age will allow them to exercise and improve their sense of balance, observation ability, coordination ability, aesthetic ability and many other aspects. If you want Your children will make great achievements in the arts (whether painting, design, music), etc. in the future, so be sure to let them practice calligraphy.

The above is the experience I have summarized in my own teaching. I hope it can help many parents. The most important thing in practicing calligraphy and calligraphy is persistence. If we love our children, we should encourage them, accompany them, and wait for the flowers to bloom. open.
