Chu Suiliang, also known as Dengshan, was a Tang Dynasty politician and calligrapher from Yangzhai (now Yuzhou, Henan); Chu Suiliang was knowledgeable and talented, proficient in literature and history. At the end of the Sui Dynasty, he followed Xue Ju as a counselor, and later served as a counselor and chief clerk in the Tang Dynasty. In the 23rd year of the Tang Zhenguan era (649 AD), he and Changsun Wuji were both appointed by Emperor Taizong to assist in politics; After firmly opposing Empress Wu Zetian's appointment as Empress Dowager, she was demoted to the position of Governor of Tanzhou (Changsha). After Empress Wu ascended to the throne, she was transferred to the position of Governor of Guizhou (Guilin) and then demoted to the position of Governor of Aizhou (now Qinghua in northern Vietnam). She passed away in the third year of Tang Xianqing (658 AD); Chu Sui was a skilled calligrapher who initially studied Yu Shinan and later adopted the method of Wang Xizhi. Along with Ouyang Xun, Yu Shinan, and Xue Ji, he was known as the "Four Great Masters of the Early Tang Dynasty"; The surviving ink inscriptions include "Monument to Master Meng" and "Preface to the Holy Teachings of the Wild Goose Pagoda".
