How can adults learn calligraphy with zero basic skills?

I have zero basic skills as an adult. I really envy other people’s good calligraphy. How can I practice it systematically? Are there any good teachers or videos to recommend?

1. It is better to find a professional teacher. Walking by yourself is slow and easy to take detours.

2. It depends on your personal wishes, whether you want to go further in calligraphy or just keep it as a hobby to cultivate your character.

2. If you want to go further, I suggest you pick a suitable post book and learn the basic strokes before jumping into the post directly.

If you want to cultivate your character as a point of interest, then just follow the tutorials in Ou Kai, Yan Kai, etc. and learn to write on your own.

It is recommended to write "Cao Quan Bei" in official script first, because the strokes and frame structure of regular script are simpler and easier to start with. After writing for half a year to a year, the brush will be stable and flexible, and then you can change it to regular script. You can choose Yan style or European style. It is recommended to do facial expressions first, as the characteristics of facial expressions will be more obvious and easier to write. I insist on writing in regular script for three years before writing in regular script. I hope you can stick to it.
