Teacher Lu Dadong was born in Penglai City, Shandong Province. In 1991, he studied calligraphy and seal cutting at the Calligraphy Department of the China Academy of Art. He studied under Mr. Liu Jiang, Zhang Zuan, Wang Dongling, Zhu Suizhi, Chen Zhenlian and Qiu Zhenzhong. In 2002, he was admitted to the Calligraphy Department of the China Academy of Art and studied for a master's degree in seal cutting, studying under Mr. Wang Dongling. He is currently an associate professor at the Modern Calligraphy Research Center of the China Academy of Art, a distinguished associate professor at the International School of the China Academy of Art, and the lead singer of the Hangzhou Yuren Band.
