Chen Zhongkang was born in Yongjia, Zhejiang in 1968. He graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts (now the China Academy of Art) in 1991, majoring in calligraphy, and worked in Wenzhou Museum and Wenzhou Normal University. He started to study for a doctorate degree at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2005 and received a doctorate degree in 2008. Now he works in the Chinese Book Court of the Chinese Academy of Art. Member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, member of the Calligraphy Committee of the Chinese Calligraphy Association.
His works have won the “National Award” at the Sixth National Calligraphy and Seal Cutting Exhibition, the first prize at the Seventh National Youth Calligraphy Exhibition, the “Weng Tonghe Award” at the Jiangnan Cultural Festival, and the highest prize of the Zhejiang Calligraphy Exhibition for two consecutive times. "Sha Menghai Award", Zhejiang Provincial People's Government "Lu Xun Art Award" Outstanding Achievement Award. In 2010, he was named "Top Ten Young Calligraphers" by "Calligraphy" magazine, and in 2013, he was awarded the Nomination Award of Chinese Young Artists by the Chinese Academy of Art.
