Jinzhou Wanfotang Grottoes are located on the cliff on the north bank of the Daling River south of Wanfotang Village, 9 kilometers northwest of Yi County, Jinzhou, Liaoning. The inscriptions, inscriptions and pagodas left in the grottoes are valuable materials for studying the local history of Liaoning. Among them, the most valuable inscription is undoubtedly "The Statue of Yuanjing", whose full name is "The Statue of Yuanjing, the Governor of Pingdong General Yingzhou". This stele was built in the 23rd year of Taihe in the Northern Wei Dynasty (499), and was built in Yingzhou (now Chaoyang). ) Yuan Jing, the governor, built it for Emperor Xiaowen and his family members to pray for blessings from disasters.
The inscription was made on the wall of the cave. It has 304 characters in existence. Each of them is strong and elegant, with extremely strong writing skills and exquisite calligraphy art. Liang Qichao, a famous scholar in the late Qing Dynasty, received the original rubbing as a gift from a friend and loved it very much. He commented that "the bones of the sky are open and the light shines". Kang Youwei also called it "the best of all the steles of the Yuan and Wei Dynasties".
