Song Renzong Zhao Zhen was the fourth emperor of the Song Dynasty and was known as the most kind emperor in history.

Hongli, the Qianlong Emperor of the Qing Dynasty who called himself the Shiquan Old Man, had a very high self-esteem and few people could appreciate him. But he admitted that there were three emperors whom he admired. One was his grandfather Kangxi Xuanye, the other was Tang Taizong Li Shimin, and the third was Song Renzong Zhao Zhen.

The important personality characteristics of Song Renzong are: sympathy for the weak and tolerance for worldly affairs. This not only achieved his personal charm, but also achieved his performance as emperor. Historians summarize the period of Renzong's reign and pro-political governance as "Renzong's prosperous rule".

During the reign of Song Renzong, there were many great writers who were famous throughout the ages. Of the eight great masters of the Tang and Song Dynasties, two were born in the Tang Dynasty and six were born in the Song Dynasty. The six people who appeared in the Song Dynasty all came from his reign. It can be said that these six people are all famous. To this day, who doesn’t know the names of Ouyang Xiu, Zeng Gong, Su Xun, Su Shi, Su Che, and Wang Anshi? Why is this possible? Lin Yutang said it right, because this is the "best era" for Chinese literati, and the cultural atmosphere is relaxed.

Song Renzong was also a great talent. He was proficient in chess, calligraphy, painting and poetry, especially calligraphy, and was good at Fei Bai calligraphy. Ouyang Xiuyun of the Song Dynasty said, "Renzong had nothing to do in his free time, so he could only practice calligraphy and ink, and Feibai is particularly magical." He wrote the "Lanting Preface", which has been widely praised by calligraphers and painters for thousands of years.
