Wen Zhengming's small regular script "The Later Disciple"

Wen Zhengming (1470.11.28-1559.3.28), whose original name was Bi (or Zuobi), had the courtesy name Zhengming. From the age of forty-two, he began to use the word "xing" and the word "zhengzhong". Because he was born in Hengshan, he was named "Hengshan Jushi" and was known as "Wenhengshan" in the world. He was Han nationality and a native of Changzhou (now Suzhou, Jiangsu). He was a painter, calligrapher and writer in the Ming Dynasty. Because he went to the Imperial Academy to wait for the imperial edict, he was given the posthumous title of Mr. Zhenxian, so he was called "Wen Daizhao" or "Wen Zhenxian".

Wen Zhengming was born in a family of officials. He took the imperial examinations several times in his early years, but was not admitted because he was not in a good time. At the age of 54, Yu Gongsheng was recommended to Hanlin to await imperial edicts. He resigned after serving as an official for four years. Since then, he has devoted himself to poetry, calligraphy and painting, no longer seeking official career advancement, trying his best to avoid interacting with powerful people, and has devoted himself to the art of poetry, calligraphy and painting for more than 30 years. He died at the age of 90, and his poems, essays and paintings were all excellent. He is known as an all-rounder with "Four Wonders". In his later years, his reputation was extremely high.

Wen Zhengming followed the example of Xiaokai in Jin and Tang Dynasties, and became vigorous and vigorous. Xie Zaihang's "Wuzazu·Volume 7" of the Ming Dynasty praised Wen Zhengming's small regular script: "There is no real regular script, that is, the "Jian Ji Zhi Biao" and "Le Yi Lun" written by Zhong and Wang all have running script. "Jiucheng Palace" of the Tang Dynasty , "Duobao Pagoda" and other steles, the calligraphy and painting began to be rigorous, but the disease of being too fat and too thin was still unavoidable. In this dynasty, Mr. Wen Zhengzhong began to pay close attention to the structure, with well-proportioned density and appropriate position. Like the Eight-faced Guanyin, the color and appearance are sufficient. He is also one of the most famous people in the book garden." His large characters have the style of Huang Tingjian, which is green and graceful, and is good at both bone and rhyme. At that time, he paid equal attention to Zhu Yunming and Wang Chong.
