Ouyang Xun's "Huangfujun Monument"


Ouyang Xun (557-641), a famous calligrapher and official in the Tang Dynasty, one of the four masters of regular script, the grandson of Ouyang Li, the general of Nanliang Zhengnan, and the son of Ouyang He, the general of Nanchen Zuowei.


Ouyang Xun, together with his contemporaries Yu Shinan, Chu Suiliang and Xue Ji, were called the Four Great Masters of the Early Tang Dynasty. Because his son Ouyang Tong was also good at calligraphy, he was also called "Da Ou".


Both he and Yu Shinan were famous for their calligraphy in the early Tang Dynasty, and they were both called "European Yu". Later generations used their calligraphy to find danger in the ordinary and most convenient for beginners, so they called it "European style".


"The Monument of Huangfu Jun" is also called "The Monument of Huangfu's Birthday", and its full name is "The Monument of the Emperor Hongyi and Ming Gong Huangfu of the Sui Dynasty, Zuo Guanglu". The article was written by Tang Yu Zhining and written by Ouyang Xun. Inscribed in the Tang Dynasty, there are twenty-eight lines and fifty-nine characters. The forehead of the stele is in Yangwen with twelve characters in seal script: "Sui Zhuguo Hongyi Minggong Huangfujun Monument". The inscription records the deeds of Huangfu's birthday. The tablet was interrupted and several crosses were damaged.
